ABSTRACT
The management of a patient with a spinal fracture-from the scene of the accident to definitive treatment-is dependent on several variables, one of which is a thorough understanding of the fracture pattern and its degree of stability. This is accomplished by an appropriate clinical and radiological evaluation of the patient.
