ABSTRACT
Clinical disease in the context of a long-term care facility (LTCF) presents problems for the healthcare professional that differ considerably from those found in the ambulatory setting or in acute care hospitals. This chapter will focus on the acute and chronic forms of the most common types of viral hepatitis as may occur in a long-term care setting, as well as on the challenges to infection control that they represent.
