ABSTRACT
While the average consumer tends to think of petroleum products as consisting of a few items such as motor gasoline, jet fuel, home heating oils, kerosine, etc., a survey conducted by the American Petroleum Institute (API) of the petroleum refineries and petrochemical plants revealed over 2,000 products made to individ-ual specifications [1]. Table 2.1 shows the number of individual products in 17 classes.
