ABSTRACT
The etiology and/or pathogenesis of uremic pleuritis remains unknown and has been the subject of numerous speculations (7). It must be emphasized that the finding of hemorrhagic pleural effusion in a uremic patient (dialyzed or not) requires the exclusion of all causes of hemorrhagic pleural effusion before it is concluded to be due to uremia.
