ABSTRACT

The entry profiles the U.S. retail industry using government data. The analysis includes the manufacturing and logistics services base in the U.S. that supplies retailers. The purpose of the entry is to capture the breadth and depth of participants in retail supply chains. While the data covers a developed market, it points to the possibilities for growth in countries that only beginning the journey toward chain‐dominated retailing.
