ABSTRACT

DEFINITION/INTRODUCTION Gynecomastia is a commonly occurring condition of the male chest found in up to 60% of the male population. In most cases, it is a self-limiting problem resolving spontaneously. Tools for male breast surgery include liposuction, excision, skin reduction, nipple reduction, and fat sculpture. A gynecomastia surgeon needs to be comfortable with all of these tools, using each to its maximal advantage. This is not a good operation for liposuction alone or a significant number of patients will end up unhappy.
