ABSTRACT

INTRODUCTION Ten years ago, we proposed the name megaliposculpture to all liposculpture procedures during which is extracted 10 liters or more of a mixture composed of adipose tissue, the normal saline from the subcutaneous infiltration, and the patient’s blood. The proportions of each of these elements vary according to the case, and only the quantity of adipose tissue is taken into consideration. The evaluation at the same time of the hemoextraction, the visible fraction of the blood loss that conditions the pursuit or the abandonment of the intervention, is of such importance that it is necessary to closely watch over this parameter. Its qualitative and quantitative importance determine the volume of pure lipoextraction.
