ABSTRACT

In this day of outpatient surgery, scrutiny, and regulation, it behooves the surgeon to examine carefully the accepted standards of outpatient surgery and surgical facilities. The Accreditation Association of Ambulatory Healthcare can be helpful in guiding the surgeon in his or her design of an appropriate surgical facility for liposuction [1]. The liposuction procedure requires an operating room large enough for the surgeon and assistant to move around the table and nursing monitor and operate the bulky equipment. A minimal space is 15 15 ft, while many prefer 20 20 ft for maximal room.
