ABSTRACT

The above criteria developed by the President’s Committee provides a framework for appropriate current and new millennium affirmative action programs. Although, quotas are illegal, and most affirmative action programs avoid using quotas, some over zealous managers have made goals and objectives quasi quotas. Current and new millennium affirmative action programs must avoid use of quotas. Race neutral options are being debated as the future direction of affirmative action. A growing school of thought posits that economic factors should be the primary factor in affirmative action programs as opposed to race and gender.
