ABSTRACT
Multiple skin biopsies for both formalin fixation and paraffin embedding and for snap freezing should be obtained. Immunophenotyping can usually be done on formalin-fixed and parffin-embedded tissue. Fresh frozen tissue is optimal for detection of clonality as well as for other molecular biologic studies.
