I. INTRODUCTION

While tremor following traumatic injury to the central nervous system (CNS) is a

well-accepted phenomenon (1-3), peripheral injuries have received increasing

consideration as a cause of posttraumatic tremor (4,5). The pathophysiological

mechanisms underlying tremor following trauma are not yet clearly defined, even

in cases where a specific lesion can be identified. This chapter will focus on

tremor arising from both central and peripheral injuries, with an emphasis on

clinical features, pathophysiology, and management.
