ABSTRACT

The endocrine organs are especially prone to injury from radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Endocrine abnormalities are, in fact, the most prevalent late effects observed in survivors of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT); approximately 50% of survivors followed long-term will develop one of several endocrinopathies. This overview will focus on the late endocrine disturbances that are most commonly observed following successful HSCT.
