Cystic Fibrosis and Sinusitis

Since being discovered in 1936, cystic fibrosis (CF) has become the most common fatal inherited disease affecting Caucasians. The disease primarily affects the lung (pulmonary disease is the most common cause of morbidity and mortality), but head and neck manifestations are common. Chronic or recurrent sinusitis and/or nasal polyposis can often be the presenting symptom.
