ABSTRACT
Histoplasmosis, blastomycosis, and coccidioidomycosis are the three major
endemic fungi in North America. Paracoccidioidomycosis is endemic in South America (1). Although histoplasmosis is found in all continents
except Antarctica, coccidioidomycosis in South America, and blastomyco-
sis in Africa, only in North America are these illnesses common.
