ABSTRACT

Histoplasmosis, blastomycosis, and coccidioidomycosis are the three major

endemic fungi in North America. Paracoccidioidomycosis is endemic in South America (1). Although histoplasmosis is found in all continents

except Antarctica, coccidioidomycosis in South America, and blastomyco-

sis in Africa, only in North America are these illnesses common.
