ABSTRACT

This chapter will explore the emerging, real-world issues and threats facing the assurance of converged IP networks, and especially the assets which utilize these networks, whether they be the Triple Play or Transparent applications discussed in Chapter 1. These will be organized according to the type of convergence to which they are applicable, and we will attempt to highlight the distinction between a stand-alone impact on an asset and the impact on multiple converged assets; in other words, how a single type of threat presents risk to different converged assets.
