ABSTRACT

The management of a facility housing nonhuman primates is affected by numerous governmental regulatory agencies, including those at the federal, state, and local levels. It is not uncommon for state and/or local agencies to have their own regulations and requirements. It is therefore important that a facility maintaining nonhuman primates for the purposes of research, testing, and teaching not only be managed in accordance with the federal regulatory agencies and accrediting organizations listed below, but also in accordance with state and local laws.
