ABSTRACT
Due to their particular nature, mobile ad hoc networks put forward a set of new challenges to the security design of networks presenting open network architectures and variable topologies. While a lot of efforts to deploy mobile ad hoc networks have focused on solving problems such as multihop routing, wireless local access, and mobile localization, security has obtained too little development and has become a major concern in the protection of the communication between nodes, particularly when the existing security solutions for wired networks do not efficiently apply to mobile ad hoc networks. The fundamental objective of the security solutions to be provided for the mobile ad hoc networks is to make available security services such as authentication, confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
