ABSTRACT

Introduction Unrecorded information concerning the past usage of and activities associated with property can be collected only through interviews. People familiar with the site and surrounding areas may have witnessed, participated in, or observed that which was never recorded. This may be an observation of one brief incident, a sequence of events, or a routine. People may be aware of what they witnessed, or they may not have any idea what actually occurred or its significance. Interviewees may have been the participants in an activity or the eyewitnesses.
