ABSTRACT

Students will learn to take care of their health and safety while working in laboratories. Safety signs are divided into three general categories: danger, warning, and caution. Electrical accidents can result in property damage, personal injury, and sometimes death. Ensuring electrical safety in laboratories and classrooms is important for students and staff. The most common protection against property damage from circuit overloads and overheating is the use of fuses and circuit breakers. Fuses and circuit breakers should be the correct current rating for the circuit. Circuit breakers are commonly used instead of fuses in large equipment and houses. Switches, fuses, and circuit breakers are placed on the hot side of the line, to interrupt power flow to the circuit element. Fibre optic cables are made from a glass strand, covered with a polymer jacket. Optical surfaces have to be clean and free of dust and other particles, which can range in size from tenths to hundreds of microns in diameter.
