ABSTRACT

This book fills a significant gap in surveillance literature. There are thousands of books about spies, dozens of retail catalogs that list spying devices and, now, many books that discuss loss of privacy related to increasing levels of surveillance. However, this is the only foundation text that covers surveillance devices in a broader context so that readers can understand the origins and diversity of these devices, and how they are used in a wide range of fields.
