ABSTRACT

Managers and leaders of organizations are facing ever-increasing levels of change from outside their organizations, driving the need to create corresponding modifications inside the organization. Unlike the organizations that operated in the more or less stable environments of the past, the organizations of today operate in a dynamic environment, which seems to be evolving at an ever-increasing rate. Even staid and well-established firms involved in the production or distribution of well-known, name-brand products that have influenced the culture to the point that day-to-day life has been affected, have found that they must adapt to survive. Gibson believes that the lesson of the past three decades is that nobody (no firm) can drive to the future on cruise control.
