ABSTRACT

In this chapter, we discuss general water chlorination disinfection practices for surface water supplies and for well heads (groundwater). We also discuss the latest regulatory requirements pertinent to disinfection by-products (DBPs), Cryptosporidium, and turbidity limits. (Note: Readers may benefit from reviewing the chapter on disinfection in Volume 1; many of the calculations required in the Chapter Review Questions are also covered in Volume l .)
