ABSTRACT
This entry reviews what is currently known about the relationship between the Internet and public library use, looking first briefly at the state of Internet connectivity in libraries, and then summarizing how the Internet is affecting public library use in areas such as access, digital reference, circulation, and services offered. The entry concludes with a more in-depth discussion of user decision criteria in relation to choices of whether to use Internet or library resources.
