ABSTRACT
Intangible heritage is concerned with aspects of culture which have no material form. It includes traditions, language, and orally transmitted music and text. It is also concerned with traditional performance arts, and with public and private rituals, and symbols. Preservation and curation present particular problems, because the mere act of recording changes the nature of that which is being recorded.
