ABSTRACT
Open Source software is distinguished not by programming language, operating environment, nor application domain, but rather by the license(s) that governs the use, distribution, and, most importantly, the rights to access and modify the software’s source code. Together, software source code and open source licensing have dramatically changed many conventional assumptions about software and the software industry itself.
