ABSTRACT

Historic and archaeological sites provide windows to life in the past. The sites are the in situ repositories of the human activities. Studying these sites helps this and future generations understand the past and our links to it. Preserving these sites honors those who came before and strengthens our connections to our roots. Sites may be as grand as an historic district or an architectural treasure, or as simple as a small campsite used by ancient hunters. Yet, each has an important story to tell about people in the past.
