ABSTRACT

In the evolving world of data on the World Wide Web, there are many standards that are used to provide better data with more context and meaning in the Semantic Web. Linked Data standards must be followed in order to fully utilize Semantic Web technologies by creating a web of data that can be interpreted by both humans and machines. This entry provides an overview of what Linked Data means and the basic best practices for implementing Linked Data, as well as a quick survey of how Linked Data is being used in libraries.
