ABSTRACT

A very important complication in diabetes mellitus (DM) is the development of ischemic heart disease (IHD). Many authors note that the level of the total cholesterol is less important for the development of IHD in DM than an increased content of glucose in the blood. The hyperkinetic variant of central hemodynamics with a growth in the volume of circulating blood is an important pathological factor in DM (especially combined with obesity). These changes are attended by a growth in the preliminary load and lead to the incidence of blood circulation insufficiency. Glycosylation also affects the main components of the coagulating system of the blood. Nonenzymatic glycosylation is associated primarily with hyperglycemia. Morphobiochemical studying of glycosylation in DM patients revealed that the development of microvascular lesions and atherosclerosis is based on glycosylation.
