ABSTRACT

The FRCS examination demands a fluent approach to the examination of the head and neck. You will have taken histories and performed ENT examinations on many hundreds of patients by the time you come to sit the exam. However, this means there may be an element of ‘unlearning’ shortcuts you have been practising over the years. You will need to adopt a comprehensive and systematic approach for examining ENT subsites that is easy to remember. You can then apply the appropriate routine swiftly and confidently so that you can spend more time focussing on how you will present your findings fluently and discuss your interpretation.
