ABSTRACT

Motivation is heavily researched in the corporate world with a focus on employee retention and morale. Motivation during the load in and tech process likely impacts the number of notes achieved and thus the level of polish achieved for the performance. Assurance, recognition, and positive reinforcement are the most sought-after factors by an employee. A desire for more responsibility, for example, represents a desire to take ownership as well as a confidence in one’s own work. The ability to enjoy the work is another intrapersonal skill and is very important to motivation. Productivity is affected by the equipment available. A high-precision scene shop that operates without a computer numerical control router is likely to become more productive by acquiring one. “Praise publicly and criticize privately” is a great place to start when it comes to reassurance. Praising publicly not only highlights the individual accomplishment but also communicates to the team what a success looks like to management.
