ABSTRACT

Chapter 1: “Introduction: Engaged Employees Have Purpose at Work” provides justification for why organizations should prioritize engaging their employees and describes the lack of information about guiding engagement efforts. D. Brooke Moran developed the purpose-driven employee engagement model, which she introduces in Chapter 1, based on nearly ten years of research and study. The model provides guidance to organizations of all kinds in creating and implementing effective engagement efforts. Finally, included in Chapter 1 is an introduction to the four case studies highlighted in the book, as well as a brief synopsis of Chapters 2 through 6.
