This chapter concludes this study on humour transfer via four different translation modes: dubbing, subtitling, fansubbing and audio description in two comedies, namely Modern Family and The Big Sick. The general findings regarding translation trends in revoicing and captioning are further summarised and debated in descriptive terms while broader considerations are also made for the audio description of humour. Some limitations regarding the applicability of the theories and frameworks used are also pointed out. However, all in all, the research carried out in this book-length study has proven the feasibility of applying theories developed in both Audiovisual Translation and Humour Studies to understand the nature of humour and overcome the challenges that it poses in translation.
