ABSTRACT

This chapter presents a brief summary of the implications for practitioners, policymakers, and researchers regarding the well-being of autistic students based on the findings of the research. The findings of the research study have implications for schools to support and enhance the well-being of autistic students who are being included in mainstream schools. School leaders who are committed and dedicated, act as role models and influence staff and students to acquire similar beliefs, and in turn demonstrate more inclusive practices in school. Policy makers need to consider allocating funds to all autistic students as funds are needed to adequately support the well-being of autistic students in school. As articulated in the Convention on the Rights of the Child, it is the right of children to express their views about matters concerning them. The research has demonstrated that children possess ample knowledge about their lives and experiences.
