ABSTRACT
Here are eighteen people who have done influential mathematics. Some of the eighteen we have known for many years, probably first encountering them in our undergraduate years or even earlier than that. Others are very new acquaintances, people whose lives and works we knew little about until we came across them during the research for this collection.
