ABSTRACT

The aim of the chapter is to reveal the importance of corporate social responsibility (CSR) by showing its social commitments to employees and their implications on workplace quality, work satisfaction, and employee loyalty. The chapter analyzes the most important concepts and definitions of CSR and discloses its main dimensions. The main drivers and barriers of CSR are examined and benefits and costs of CSR are critically discussed. The tools for implementing CSR are defined by identifying the role of the company’s stakeholders in the process of implementation of CSR practices. The environmental and social management systems and environmental, social, etc. standards are discussed by disclosing their requirements and consequences. Reasons for implementing CSR initiatives are analyzed and systematized. The CSR towards employees is highlighted in order to show the linkages between sustainable performance of enterprise and job satisfaction and happiness of employees.
