ABSTRACT
This chapter provides a brief history of some of the more infamous cases of sexual harassment and misconduct in the entertainment world, business, academia, and politics. It considers whether and how much workplace relations have changed over recent decades, as well as the events leading to the organization of the #MeToo movement. It closes by introducing six research questions that guide our study and previews the remaining book chapters.
