ABSTRACT

This chapter reports a guided reflection on the author’s own career development stories. It invites higher education stakeholder to re-examining graduate employability, viewing at it as a journey of finding identity. The author reflects on her exploration of different pathways to build up her career and professional identity in Russia, New Zealand, and Australia by means of pursuing education and working as practitioners in different fields. The author argues that professional identity is an essential part of graduates’ career development. A solid career identity will help graduates feel more fulfilled and confident in their professional life. She advises that universities and students should pay more attention to construct a career identity because it is the ultimate goal in one’s career development trajectory.
