ABSTRACT

In this chapter, the authors comment on the evolving landscape of psychology provision within English soccer academy settings, recognizing the wide range of existing approaches to delivery within such contexts. They explore the potential benefits and challenges associated with a systems-led approach to integration of the discipline in such settings. Recognizing that it is less common for theory and real-world reflections to be coupled in the literature, they share a case study example of a core project, underpinned by a systems-led approach. Finally, they offer a potential ‘how to’ guide for practitioners to adapt and utilize as appropriate within applied contexts.
