ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the concepts covered in the preceding chapters of this book. The book shows how to leave room for pluralistic values by making the actors participants in the dialogic structure of the research process. It deals with ways of communicating the voices of subjectivity. The book explores photographs which not only captivate a particular moment within a longer research period but also offer the possibility to reflect on the process itself. It aims to achieve the same effect to a different end. Various people involved within a school watch films from a culturally different perspective and thus engage in cross-cultural reflection. The book explains the levels of individual and institutional development. It analyses more traditional forms of fieldwork with the use of ‘event analysis’. The book focuses on critical phases in the professional world of a headteacher.
