ABSTRACT
During the Golden Age of the Dutch Republic, the Calvinist theologian Gisbertus Voetius wrote an influential disputation on atheism, where he offers a complex typology of unbelief that tends to enlarge the scope of tolerance within the context of the pluralistic society established in the Netherlands.
