ABSTRACT
The chapter provides a summary of the emergent trends, alternatives, and conclusions. There has been an ascendance of local/state specific issues rather than the national issues in the elections, especially at the state level. These trends have held even as BJP has emerged as the dominant/system-defining party. Though the future of small/minor parties looks bleak, larger state parties with their own strong regional identities are likely to linger on.
