ABSTRACT
Foreign body in the ear
➣ Common in the paediatric population
➣ Patient may present with otitis externa or perichondritis
➣ Removal can be attempted if child is compliant: prevent iatrogenic tympanic membrane perforation
➣ If child is not compliant, removal can be done under general anesthetic
➣ Insects in the ear should be first killed with an oil based solution and then removed
