ABSTRACT
The behavioristic revolution led to a widening of the range of research interests, to inspiring reformulations of psychological problems, and to invigorating attacks on methodological issues. However, in the eagerness to open up new areas of research and in the impatient effort to push psychology along to the level of the advanced sciences, basic assumptions underlying the behavioristic movement were left unexamined.
