ABSTRACT

Opinions about whether globalization is the Gospel or disaster are various and have brought a lot of debate. In the public opinion circles and the theoretical circles for globalization, to a large extent there is no unanimously defined definition. At that time people participated in activities that opposed and resisted globalization and all of them had their own motivations respectively. China’s reform and opening-up since the 1980s was undoubtedly involved into globalization. And then China actively participated in negotiations and applied to join the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade Organization – which is the World Trade Organization (WTO) – and eventually entered the WTO in 2001, meaning that it has a more active stance in joining globalization. Many researchers take China’s participation in globalization, the process of turning rich and cheap labor forces to competitive manufacturing industry products, as a part of the “Flying Geese Pattern” formed in East Asia.
