ABSTRACT
This paper presents an overview of some findings related to mining 4.0 which resulted from a DAAD International Alumni Seminar on the subject which was held at TU Bergakademie Freiberg from 30 April to May 5, 2019. The seminar was attended by twenty five Alumni from developing countries who had studied or/and were researchers at German universities earlier. All of them currently hold positions in Research and Development Institutions, the Mining Sector, Consultancy and Government. The seminar was entitled:
GERMANY’S CONTRIBUTION TO MINING 4.0: ALGORITHMS, SOFTWARE, SENSORS, AUTOMATED MINING, BUSINESS CONCEPTS FOR DEVELOPING COUNTRIES
This paper is divided in three parts: (i) an overview of some data related to the significance of developing countries to the generation of natural resources, (ii) some elements on the current state on MINING 4.0 and (iii) a case study about a fully automated mine in Mali.
