ABSTRACT

Sir,—Having read with feelings of, I must say, disgust, the two letters inserted by “School Assistant” and “Old Grumpy,” in your valuable paper of the 24th April and 22nd May, and also having marked the manner in which they have been already “rubbed down,” so to have it by “Paterfamilias” and “Semper Paratus,” in your editions of 22nd and 29th May, I, who am proud to boast myself the father of a regimental girl, feel bound (i.e., if you will kindly afford me space) through the medium of your paper, most emphatically to contradict the assertions of "School Assistant” and “Old Grumpy,” with reference to the manner in which soldiers' daughters are reared.
