ABSTRACT

This chapter explores the background to Donald Trump being elected President of the United States of America in November 2017. It also summarises his progress from his inauguration through to the end of 2019. It briefly explores why traditionally Democratic voters changed political allegiance and the impact this has had on subsequent events. The ancient Greek concepts of Kairos and Chronos are used to indicate Trump was almost a natural fit for the USA of 2017. The issue of final electing of a President being done by Electoral College votes rather than by the votes of individual voters is briefly explored.
