ABSTRACT
A few weeks later on Thursday, I was just getting ready to leave when Steve stuck his head in the door. That was a surprise. Steve never stuck around. At the end of his shift he was gone within minutes. He didn’t speed away or squeal his tires, but he didn’t linger. So, if he was poking his head in my door 5 minutes after quitting time, something was up.
