ABSTRACT

The study of mind, brain, and education is an evolving field of scientific study and practice. The program in mind, brain, and education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, founded by Kurt Fischer, was among the first such programs in the world. The task of understanding and promoting learning requires the elaboration of integrative developmental theory. Technological development is a key process in the evolution of culture. An important discovery of lifelong education is that teaching is not the privilege of adults but starts with the remarkable capacities to teach that children have. The current technology gives new hope for overcoming many disabilities and its relevance in special education is now expanding around the globe. Neural nets, today, can learn to translate unsupervised by humans. Many millions of children are unfolding new digital skills of learning and teaching.
