ABSTRACT

The shared processes will have to be attuned to ensure that the staffs performs the correct activities and that no gaps or double activities arise. By setting up an Activities Schedule it becomes clear who is responsible for which activity in a process. Activities that can be performed simultaneously are placed together. These are called parallel activities. The other activities, which cannot be placed in parallel, constitute the critical path of the process. This is the shortest possible completion time for this process on the basis of the activities that must be performed. The Activities schedule provides the enterprise with the possibility to better attune the business processes to each other and so shorten the lead time. Enterprises that are radically changing their products or methods of production will have to spend extra time keeping these Activities schedules up-to-date.
